MARTA MATTIOLI

b. 1998, Sansepolcro, Italy

Currently lives and works in Bucharest, Romania

Represented by Catinca Tabacaru Gallery

Marta Mattioli works in both the digital and physical realms, feeding one with the other and producing digital and metal sculpture. She is a member of the Kinema Ikon collective and a curator and organizer at Atelier 35 in Bucharest. She explores a proposed reality which she suspends between utopian and dystopian futures, delving into the concept of organic-digital hybridization. Working within the interplay between traditional and digital elements, her works prompt contemplation of this fusion and invites viewers to consider the evolving nature of our world with its possibilities that lie ahead.

Mattioli has mounted solo exhibitions with Catinca Tabacaru at Atelier 35 in Bucharest and eastcontemporary in Milan. An active and visible artist of her generation, her work has been included in gallery exhibitions all around Romania and in a group exhibtion at the National Museum of Contemporary Art (MNAC) in Bucharest (2021).
